Fito Network Festival: Breaking Knowledge Silos to Catalyze Culture Change and Unlock Innovation
Thanks to all of you who joined the Cultivating Communities of Practice session, as part of the FITO Networks Festival with Dr. Ede Ijjasz-Vasquez, Philip Karp, and Dr. Monika Weber-Fahr, authors and editors of the recently launched book Communities of Practice at the World Bank. We would like to thank them for generously sharing their rich experiences and lessons, as well as to the KM4Dev community for co-hosting with us, and to the FITO Network for welcoming us to their Networks festival!
Session resources:
🗂️ Collective harvest: You can find the collective harvest with various nuggets and lessons in this Google doc
🎬 Session Recording: Watch the session recording, including the recording of the two “fireside chat breakouts” with Ede and Phil!
🎤 Virtual Interview with Ede: Watch this follow up conversation with Ede in which he answers questions that we did not have time to go through during the session.
This session was hosted by the Community Builders Community of Practice, a global network of professionals who work in the design or management of Communities of Practice in the international development, peacebuilding, and humanitarian sectors. You can learn more and join us through this form. We also invite you to engage with us on LinkedIn and YouTube.
What are the benefits of bringing communities of practice to the core of organizational performance and competitive advantage? How can leaders make these communities central to the success of organizations, large and small?
Join us for a practical discussion on the strategic importance of communities and collaboration inspired by the recently launched book Communities of Practice at the World Bank.
The editors will share stories and lessons of how they designed and incorporated an ecosystem of communities of practice within a large global practice (department) at the World Bank to spur new ways of working, facilitate greater collaboration, and generate strategic results and development impact.
