Angélica Nuñez is a lead operations officer at the World Bank, working in the Sustainable Development Department in Africa East and South. She has managed several lending and advisory projects on land, housing, urban redevelopment, slum upgrading, and disaster risk management in Mexico, India, Turkey, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, and the Caribbean and has contributed to complex lending and guarantee operations in all regions.

She has focused largely on analyzing the market distortions in the housing and land markets that can lead to unsustainable urban development and uncompetitive cities.

Previous to her position in the World Bank, she was a senior associate with an advisory firm in London, UK, specializing in structured finance, infrastructure project finance, and public-private partnerships. Angélica was born in Mexico City, Mexico, and holds an MSc in economics from the London School of Economics, UK.
